Lake of the Ozarks Lands $300 Million Family Centered Project
Developers have recently announced plans for the Oasis at Lakeport in Osage Beach, a new family resort and year-round entertainment district. Included in the $300 million plans are a 400-room, full-service Marriott hotel with dining establishments and premium retail, an indoor water park and an amusement park with a Ferris wheel.
This project follows a boom in tourism at the Lake of the Ozarks, which has seen record numbers of visitors since the onset of the pandemic. And while the lake has long been a favorite Midwestern getaway, its main attraction has always been the 55,000-acre lake with a slew of waterside bars. Osage Beach Mayor Michael Harmison said locals have been wanting more family friendly entertainment options.
Construction is expected to begin this year, and parts of the project could be open as early as next summer. “Our goal for Oasis at Lakeport is to provide a year-round family friendly offering with attractions and entertainment for everyone to enjoy,” said Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of one of the project’s development companies, SkyView Partners.
