Most Americans Are Planning Trips
The latest edition of the MMGY Travel Intelligence ‘Portrait of American Travelers’ reveals promising news for the travel industry—a surge in travel intentions. The study reveals that 76% of Americans plan to embark on a vacation within the next year, while 64% within the next six months. This is a significant uptick from the respective 70% and 58% this time last year.
Not only is the intent to travel surging, but optimism is growing. Despite inflation, MMGY’s Traveler Sentiment Index paints a positive outlook for the coming year, increasing from 109 last year to 113 this year. Travelers are less likely to let inflation challenges impact their travel plans than they were last year.
