In 2021, many people started returning to amusement parks following the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA), a survey conducted revealed that members went to an average of 10 amusement parks compared to 3 in 2020. The average member has visited 100 different parks in their lifetime. The survey resulted in a three-way tie for favorite theme parks including Busch Gardens (Williamsburg, PA), Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) and Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN).

“It is good to see that people are returning to amusement parks as reflected in the NAPHA Survey” said NAPHA Survey Coordinator, Marlowe McClasky Futrell. “This rebound speaks to the timeless appeal of amusement parks.”
