The Memorial Day forecast by AAA reports over 39 million people are expected to travel 50 or more miles over the holiday weekend, 3 million more than last year and only 3.6 million below 2019. Despite higher gas prices, car travel will remain the most popular travel option and is at 93% of 2019’s volume. Air travel will make up 7.7% of total travel, the highest level since 2011 and up 25% over 2021.

The holiday time frame is Thursday, May 26th through Monday May 30th.
