The Independence Day forecast by AAA predicts over 47.9 million Americans to travel over the holiday this year. This forecast is a 3.7% increase from 2021 and 98% of pre-pandemic levels despite rising prices for gas, goods and services. Car travel will set a new record with 42 million Americans planning to hit the road this weekend. Air travel will expect to see 3.5 million passengers for the holiday. Travel by buses, trains and cruise ships will increase 168% from 2021 with 2.4 million using these modes of transportation. 

The holiday time frame is Thursday, June 30th through Monday, July 4th.
