Nearly one million U.S. jobs were added in the month of July, with roughly one-third of those job gains within the leisure and hospitality industries (+380,000).

• Food services and drinking places gained 253,000 jobs,
• Accommodations gained 74,000 jobs and
• Arts, entertainment and recreation gained the remaining 53,000.

Despite these gains, employment in these industries is still down by 10.3% (1.7 million jobs) from its level in February of 2020.
