What Travelers Are Google Searching For

For many, searching for any product – including travel – starts at one spot: Google. So when it comes to travel searches, how has consumer behavior changed as vaccine distribution rolls out and people start to consider getting away?

According to TripsToDiscover, a travel discovery platform which analyzed Google search activity in the U.S., searches are up drastically for travel products since the start of 2021. Data reveals that searches for hotels are up 92%, flights are up 79% and cruises are up 88%. The largest overall increases in travel search have occurred in Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio and Florida while the largest overall decreases have taken place in Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and Maine.
