Christmas Cheer Expected to Boost Enid Economy

Enid, Oklahoma’s Christmastime event series that includes a 140-foot tree is set to begin next month. Many downtown business owners and city officials are hoping that the events will translate into bigger business for the area, as the expected turnout for the first night alone is nearly double that of their highest past attendance of 8,000 to 10,000 people. City officials say that they expect to easily welcome 100,000 people over the course of the entire event series.

Many businesses are changing their normal operations to capitalize on the event. For example, Enid Brewing Company & Eatery is moving their annual vendor market by the tree and ice rink, along with offering a gingerbread porter and other pumpkin-flavored brews for the holidays. Read more.
