Atlantic City, New Jersey has always been known for its gaming activities, attracting primarily adult-only parties. However, Showboat Atlantic City owner Bart Blatstein says that “the future of Atlantic City is in growth in non-gaming activities and attractions.” Blatstein recently cut the ribbon on a new indoor go-kart raceway, housed in the hotel lobby, and containing 30 state-of-the-art electric karts. He also announced plans for the hotel to add a $100 million indoor water park next year.

Other family friendly attractions have been added around the city, such as the Steel Pier amusement park and the newly minted North Beach Mini Golf. “Atlantic City’s Achilles heel has always been an attraction of children and families. That culture has changed,” says city mayor Marty Small Sr.
